G. Washington and kids

G. Washington and Hartinger kids Christmas a.d. 2006 in Roanoke

These children are especially fortunate because their PaPa, Randy, is a true Bible scholar who knows why the King James Version Bible is greatly blessed as a tool of GW - God's Will.

Fwd: Giving Back the Gift of Life, GW gives blood

"Florence Nightingale"
&
"General Washington"

At this Christmas time of gift giving, General Washington thanked fellow citizens for doing their "duty to God and their Country" by giving the gift of Life through the gift of blood.

GW gave each giver some wise advice:
"Now please learn from my example... give ONLY ONE time today !

Quite a few years ago I gave blood three times in one day, and it laid me low for quite some time.

So three times in six months is fine, but NOT three times in one day, OK?"

GW then said, General Light Horse Harry Lee, father of Robert E. Lee, said in a Eulogy of me (which may suggest what may occur if you give three times in one day), these words:
"First in war, first in peace, and first in the hearts of his countrymen..."
...and this drive I was first in line so my blood can flow in the hearts of my countrymen, which is the same patriotic duty that you are doing, Thank You! God Bless You, and God Bless America!"

Fwd: to American Red Cross... GW LIVES ...first in the hearts of his countrymen, no REALLY!

"Florence Nightingale"
&
"George Washington"
(or "The Spirit of George Washington LIVES!")

On this 18 December Anniversary of the Burial of George Washington, in part from giving to MUCH blood 207 years ago, GW Lives! gave his blood this Christmas Season so citizens and soldiers may live!

And "Florence Nightingale" portrayed by Miss Roanoke Valley 2006, Miss Nathalie Fassie, also gave that gift of Life.

How about you too?

When GW closed his eyes for a moment, and then opened them to see such a lovely lady as Miss Fassie as his nurse, and could hear nearby the beautiful harp music by the lovely and talented Miss Taylor Price, for a moment he thought he had an "Instant Replay" of 207 years ago going up to Heaven.

Don't worry, GW Lives! is still with us.

James,

It was so nice to see you again at Donorama and so gracious of you to offer to return on Tuesday to greet and thank donors. You certainly turned heads today and I am sure donors will be surprised and delighted to take a step back into history with you. I will forward photos shot today to local media as soon as Bob sends them.

Dear Mr. Bob Lutjen,

I have your American Red Cross business card with your email from some time back when we met at your office on Church Street in Roanoke.

I have often seen your Red Cross Bloodmobile Bus behind your building on the edge of the church parking lot of First Baptist Church when I go to evening Sunday services there, and other times when going to the V.A. office in the Federal building across Franklin Street.

I now have a "Hometown Hero" shirt from your Red Cross Bloodmobile.

I am the fellow who portrays George Washington, the man "First in the Hearts of his Countrymen..."

Today after another visit to the V.A. office, I returned home by way of Towers Mall where I saw your Red Cross Bloodmobile Bus, and made the instant "Command Decision" to donate a pint of blood of "George Washington LIVES!" so others may live.

Below is a playful banter with a Washington "cousin" about that GW blood donation, and other GW related items, that may entertain you.

The fine folks of the Bloodmobile mentioned that you have a big event this Monday and Tuesday at the Roanoke Civic Center.

I have a performance for the Artistic Director of Young Audiences of Virginia who is coming to town this Monday, so it would be easy for me to ride my "carriage" down a few miles to add to your event.

I could greet folks and thank them for giving blood so others may live.

Not knowing the program, I know not what else I may do to better serve you.

While neither I, nor you, want to repeat the disagreeable effect of
giving too much blood drawn as occurred to "me" some 207 years ago
with another quantity of blood donated within days of the first, I
could still say I was First in Line... a few days before, so to be
First in the Hearts of His Countrymen.

...

Please email me, or call my home phone at 540-343-6717 or cell phone at 703-474-1504 so we may communicate further.

Merry Christmas!

In GW,

James Renwick Manship, Sr.

Aide to GW

And to honor GW and his bloodletting about this time of year 207 years ago, this afternoon I donated blood to the Red Cross at Towers Mall on the way back from the V.A.

Remember Lee, that Lee, General Lee, General "Light Horse Harry" Lee,

(as opposed to Light Head of hair me... good reason for my powdered wig)

said in his eulogy of me:

"First in War, First in Peace, and First in the Hearts of His Countrymen..."

So today, the blood of GW Lives! was put into the "flow" so to flow into the hearts of his Countrymen! (so others may live!)

Back in 2001 in Richmond where well known is that other General Lee,

son of "my" General Lee, I shared those words with a man

who had a device to reach out to an audience

to draw folks to the blood drive to have their blood drawn,

where that day I was first in line, saying...

"And today "George Washington" is first in the blood line so his blood can course through the hearts of his countrymen..."

The radio host said, "General Washington, have you ever considered a career in Radio?"

I replied, "What is Radio?"

GW Revolutionary Christmas Stories

We think of Christmas with festive celebration, family feasts, gift giving and buying, Santa Claus and the reindeer,...

...but dear to our hearts as Americans at Christmas should be the gift of Liberty that our forefathers bought for us with their blood and their lives, purchased with suffering from from cold and starvation, and acquired for us through their priceless persistence.

President Reagan said in a.d. 1982, the most sublime picture in American history is of George Washington on his knees in the snow humbly in prayer.

Maybe as a nation we would be wise to spend less time in shopping lines and more time on our knees in prayer ...
