We think of Christmas with festive celebration, family feasts, gift giving and buying, Santa Claus and the reindeer,...
...but dear to our hearts as Americans at Christmas should be the gift of Liberty that our forefathers bought for us with their blood and their lives, purchased with suffering from from cold and starvation, and acquired for us through their priceless persistence.
President Reagan said in a.d. 1982, the most sublime picture in American history is of George Washington on his knees in the snow humbly in prayer.
Maybe as a nation we would be wise to spend less time in shopping lines and more time on our knees in prayer ...
